The Norway Spruce continues to be a popular choice in the UK and is the species erected in Trafalgar Square and outside 10 Downing Street. Triangular in shape with dark green needles, gently drooping branches and that distinctive "pine" fragrance. Its dense, bushy shape is excellent for decorating. Relatively quick growing which explains its comparatively cheap price.
